Traveling for...what?

A lot of people don't seem to get it. When I tell people "Oh yeah, I'll be going to Niceville late this week I have an eye appointment." It never fails, they always look at me with a little crazy expression on my face and then proceed to ask me if I'm aware that they do have eye doctors just about everywhere.

Well to answer the question: yes. i am completely aware.

I still choose to travel an hour and a half to go see an eye doctor that I know and trust. He's my very favorite eye doctor that I've ever had. He's different than all the rest. How so? You know, he actually cares and wants me to be able to see the best I possible can and takes all the time in the world to make sure of it.
Quick advertising: if you need an eye doctor and want someone
who will put in the time and effort to get it right for you I highly
recommend my optometrist, Dr Hemmings.
He is located in Bluewater Bay in Niceville.

Anyway- I'll continue to go see him for as long as we are this close by. It's completely worth it. There is no sense in finding a new one and starting the "oh my, you have terrible eyes" process all over again. Yes. Yes, I know.

And I've figured out it's a good way to get over to the area more often to see some friends and family and let Caroline mingle :) No complaints over here! Caroline gets to spend some one on one time with her Nonnie & Opa while I go to my appointments. I know they enjoy it just as much as she does!

Blue Wahoos

So as you know, I mentioned the baseball game we were going to.
SOO, we went! & it was awesome!
We went to the new stadium in Pensacola for their minor league baseball team,
the Pensacola Blue Wahoos
GORGEOUS STADIUM.
It's seriously beautiful. It's right on the water.
And a huge plus to that besides the great view, instead of being extremely hot from the summer sun, you get a wonderful breeze from the water.
It was Caroline's 2nd Baseball game and she loved it every bit as much as she loved the first.
Her favorite is when everyone claps, she yells yay while she joins in on the clapping.
[how did she get so dang cute?]

& please don't even get me started on the food. A pregnant woman's dream...well mine anyway.
A ball park hot dog and a basket of cheese fries.
Don't. Judge. Me.
Hadley loved it.
It was a great evening.
A very nice family outing.
We'll be going back again that's for sure.

Let the journey begin..

I just started my adventure with Beachbody.
I am two days down looking forward to day 3.

21DF Moto: "Take it one day at a time & One pound at a time"

As you know, I'm doing the 21 Day Fix program.
UH-MAZING.
I love it.
Day one was Cardio Fix.
Kicked my butt and I was sore as could be the next day.
Day two was Upper Fix.
I felt a good burn.

[My arms are going to hate me later- we're going to a baseball game tonight, so I'll be holding Caroline for the majority of the time- yikes] But at least I know it's working :)

No pain, no gain.
^or that ;)

Tomorrow is Lower Fix.
Ready to tone my legs & butt!
Nothing like Leg Day on a Friday. TGIF.
But that's tomorrow, :)

I had heard all the great things about Shakeology and why I should drink it and how much I was going to love it. But I just chalked it up to "another protein shake."
But everyone was SO right.
It's awesome.
I just did mine as simple as can be, no added ingredients to begin with.
Handful of ice, 10 oz. water, and 1/2 scoop Chocolate ShakeO.
[1/2 scoop to start out with so my tummy & body can adjust to all the good nutrients pouring into my body- you know, since 99% of this country eats CRAP]

It's amazing how much energy I have had these last 2 days.
I have been able to get so much done.
Being pregnant and in my first trimester, I've been exhausted- all.day.long.
Coffee wouldn't help. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Shakeology does though. And I feel better. It curbs my appetite. I don't want the chocolate chip muffins, I want the spinach and kale 50/50 lettuce. And topped with yummy stuff.
In 2 days, I can already tell a difference in my eating habits.
Now THAT blows my mind.

I've been reading the book "The Compound Effect" and it is talking about making small changes for a successful future.
This week the one thing I'm doing to take baby steps towards a successful future is changing one habit that is actually setting me back.
What did I change?
My sleeping habits.
I now wake up at 7:00AM instead of 9.
And I know go to bed by 11:00PM instead of whenever.

What does that have anything to do with success?
Early to rise, early to shine.
I wake up before my daughter now.
Now I get my workout in, I drink my ShakeO, I take a shower and I start a few household chores - all before she gets up.
Which sets me up for the rest of my day-
after she gets up, we have breakfast & watch Mickey Mouse and have a few hours to play before nap time. & now when she naps, instead of cramming in working out, a shower and a little work for my other job- I have more time to work and more time to get things done around the house.
It's not so rushed.
Which in tern, also means less stress :)

SO - positive things are happening over here.
I'd be happy to help you make some positive changes in your life, but when you're ready.
No one can make you do it, you have to want it.

Happy Birthday, America!

Happy Birthday, America
& God Bless The USA.

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than on the water, surrounded by American flags and family, eating good food & remembering all there is that makes this great nation the GREATEST country in all the world.
Our 4th of July was spent at the one & only Crab Island. Hundreds of boats and people all gathered around in celebration, enjoying their freedom that is fought for everyday and creating memories with those that surround them.
We had a blast. Caroline was in the water almost the entire time. She she enjoyed her float and was pulled through the water by everyone. We had family down from Georgia and Tennessee to celebrate with us.
Caroline perfected her Seminole Chop + War Chant & her Roll Tide Yell :)
I'll tell ya what - we were some Proud Parents & Proud Grandparents!

That night we grilled out and watched the fireworks.
[Somewhat watched the fireworks, it kinda rained...but it didn't rain on this parade]
We had a blast!

It was a great weekend to say the very least.
And we owe it all to those who make freedom our own.

Happy 4th of July!

The FIRST Appointment

Just a little mini post

Today we had our First Doctor's Appointment for baby #2

We got an ultrasound.
I forgot how much I loved these things.
Seeing a little tiny human and hearing it's heartbeat.. it just does something to ya.
Caroline jumped when she heard the heartbeat and then wouldn't take her eyes off the screen.
It was a mommy melting moment.
Such a precious experience.
[see our gummy bear]

Then it was just a regular exam, getting all my starting stats charted & doing a few blood tests. Just the usual.

There is a little discrepancy about how far along I actually am. So we will see for sure at the next appointment and get a more accurate due date!

Did you know that now at around 10 weeks you can take a simple blood test and find out with 99.9% accuracy what the gender of the baby is?
SO COOL!
We'll definitely be doing this!

We're impatient like that! ;)

Team Beachbody

Today I start a new adventure.

I am officially a Beachbody Coach :)

I'm going to go on my very own personal journey through health and fitness to start achieving my goals. I'm going to work hard and bust my booty to have a healthy pregnancy and and continue for a healthier lifestyle postpartum.
I decided to become a Beachbody Coach so I can hold myself accountable for my health and fitness and not self-sabotage. I needed that extra accountability!
And I want to take you with me!

If there is anyone out there who is looking to improve their lifestyle, lose weight or gain muscle, or just feel healthier with more energy - then please come on this journey with me. We can do it together! It won't be easy and we'll have to work really hard but I know we can do it!

Beachbody can provide you with all the tools you need to succeed! And I'm here to help you every step of the way.

I just bought my first Challenge Pack. Next week, as soon as I receive it, I'll be starting the 21 Day Fix as well as some yummy Chocolate Shakeology [which is safe for other pregnant mommy's like me & it can provide that extra energy we are needing!]

I'm looking forward to this new adventure. A journey to a better me, and you ;)

Today.

I'm into the 8 week of pregnancy (i think)

& I'M EXHAUSTED.

I don't remember being this tired when I was pregnant with Caroline. [It could be that I'm chasing around a 17 Month old] I'm not really sure.

All I know is I want to stay in bed all day. And even when I'm up and doing things, I just can't wake up completely. Coffee doesn't do it for me, unfortunately.

I guess I'll just patiently await the 2nd trimester so I can get some energy back.

On the flip side, my first doctors appointment is getting closer. Next week we get to go see what our little bun in the oven looks like with an ultrasound.

AND I'm super excited to get the new blood test that they do these days. The one where it tells you with like 95% certainty what the gender is.
^Those tests were made for people like me, I'm so impatient.

Father's Day 2015

Father's Day 2015 was a success.

I got to spend the morning with my wonderful husband, who is an amazing father. I don't know what we would do without all of his support. He is our rock. & I fall more and more in love when watching him and Caroline together.
He went and played golf the rest of the afternoon - it's what he wanted to do today,
so that's what he did!

My dad and brother came over to Alabama for the day. It was their first time seeing our new house.
We went and explored Downtown Fairhope and then went into Daphne for lunch.
I think I found my Thai food hot spot. [Nothing will ever replace The Thai House back home, but if I can't have it- then Bangkok Thai House is my place.] It was delicious. & we finished up our day with the U.S Open.
I hate saying bye, but obviously I had to let them leave me - they had to drive back to Niceville.

Caroline and I took us a bubble bath - full of all the foam letters and numbers you could imagine. We counted and spelled out all kinds of words - she thought it was fun. I know this because of her laughter. She thinks it's extra funny to spell her name.. not sure why - but I'll go with it :)
Then my husband returned from his day of golf and we had a relaxing evening cuddling on the couch watching Modern Family. [These are the moments]

Perfect Day.

Those Pregnancy Surveys

So since we just found out that we're expecting baby #2
I figured I'd do one of those "pregnancy surveys"
You know the ones.. The ones that everyone does.

1.) When did you find out you were pregnant? Friday June 5th

2.) How far along are you? Not exactly sure- we haven't been to the doctor's yet- but according to the BabyBump app, it looks like I'm about 6 weeks. (could be right, could be wrong)

3.) Your due date? Like I said above, not exactly sure yet- but it looks like February

3.) Do you think you're having a boy or a girl? I think it's too early to go one way or another

4.) Think you're having or are having twins/multiples? They don't run in my family so I would say most likely not

5.) If it's a boy, what will you name him? He would be a III of course :)

6.) If it's a girl, what will you name her? That's a secret for the time being! But trust me, I've had a possibility list going for quite some time now!

7.) Have you gained any wieght, how much? Literally just found out and I've been working out sooooooo I've been working on losing weight.

8.) What are you craving? No real cravings yet.

9.) What food do you hate? Nothing yet and I hope it stays that way

10.) What are your symptoms today? I've just been really sad and emotional- that's all though.

11.) Have you had a scan yet? Not yet but we're scheduled for July 1st!

12.) Have you bought anything yet? What? Too soon for that! But, I've got my eye on some things

13.) Is this your first baby? If not which number? This will be baby #2. Caroline is going to be a big sister :)

14.) Are you single, married, or engaged? Married to an amazing man & an even more amazing daddy

15.) How old are you? 25

16.) If he's a boy are you going to have him circumsized? That's not even a real question, I'm sorry. Yes.

17.) Are you going to breast feed? Absolutely. I plan on trying to do the same I did with Caroline. But I won't starve my child either, so if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

18.) How are you feeling today (emotionally)? Excited. Anxious. Overwhelmed. Exhausted. But mostly excited.

19.) How do you plan on giving birth? Naturally? C-section? Drugs? No drugs? Sue me for saying this, but I will definitely be getting the epidural. [everyone has the right to go through child birth however they choose]

In Other Big News!

My last post was filled with news
& great news I might add.

Well now I've got more for you.

So we moved in on Tuesday,
want to guess what happened on Friday?

Due to a certain amount of uncontrollable emotions, (I'm talking tears left & right)
and my husband will tell you, a little more moody (than usual)..
I decided to take one of those tests.
You know, the one that says Positive or Negative at the end?
#pregnancytest
:)

Well.
We got a big ol' +

That's right. We're on our way to baby #2!

Obviously I haven't been to the doctor yet (but I have made my appointment) so we don't have an exact due date or know exactly how far along I am
BUT
according to the wonderful apps you can find in the iPhone app store it looks like I am 6 weeks today. So we found out at 5 weeks & 4 days.
& the app says our due date is February 3rd!

We're pretty excited!
So I wanted to share the news!

Here goes another adventure :)

We have finally done it.
The day we have been waiting for.

We have a house. #homeowners
We close soon. #nextweek
And we are moving! #onclosingday

We couldn't be more excited.
It has been 6 months since we have been on our own as a family.

[Grateful for the in-laws for putting up with us for that long,

^ They're troopers.

Needless to say we're counting down and the days are lasting twice as long as usual.
Haha.

I'll be packing if you need me ;)
See ya on the flip side!

Fairhope, Alabama - here we come!
