35 Weeks & Welcoming the New Year

Who would have thought this day would ever come? I am down to the last 5 weeks of this pregnancy with our "sweeeeeeeet Caroline, bum bum bum." (Had to, everyone else does it...)

35 WEEKS!!! excuse my excitement :)
Our baby has gotten so big. We had another ultrasound! She is weighing about 7 lbs. and 1 oz. Holy Wow. My thoughts exactly. At 35 weeks, the average baby weighs about 5 1/4 lbs. which puts Caroline in the "greater 90th percentile" according to the ultrasound tech. She couldn't tell us how long our sweet baby is, so that is left to a surprise, but remember "she has long bones" so we will see!

I was really excited for this appointment. Not just because I was getting to see my little girl again for the first time in quite a few weeks, but because Joseph was able to make this one since he had the day off! She wasn't as active as she has been during the other ones. She was sleeping. AND covering her face, with not one but both hands. You could see the top part of her face. She looked liked she had a little pouty face on. It was cute. Kinda looks like she might have her daddy's lips!

I have my weekly appointment later this week. So hopefully we will be finding out if she will be an early baby girl! Mommy reallyyyyy wants to meet her soon.

Over the weekend we traveled up to Niceville to see the Robb side of the family. Never a dull moment. We really enjoyed it .It's always great to see my family.
Being home was a really good feeling. Even though it's only been a little over 3 months, it still felt like it had been forever. I love spending time with them. We spent some time in Niceville & in Destin.
I got to try a restaurant that I've heard so much about, Boshamps Oyster House. Joseph knows the owner and he'd been there a couple times since its opening and my parents have been there a few times but not me. Of course, I was surrounded by oysters and I LOVE OYSTERS. Not being able to have them was a little bit rough but there was plenty of other choices for me. Conecuh sausage is another recent favorite of mine. So I got "The Stadium Dog." Love Conecuh sausage ever since Joseph introduced me to it. Yum!

I will be eating at least a dozen oysters all to myself the very first chance I get, just saying! Care to join me?

All in all it was a great trip! I ate eggs benedict & way too much "beer cheese," I got to assist in the buying of some of the baby shower decorations, Ace got to run around his favorite field in my moms backyard, I got to eat steak and lobster for a family dinner and I was also able to spend sometime with my Grandparents & my Aunt. Oh & I had Danny's Fried Chicken. (I know, not exactly the healthiest thing this prego lady needs to be eating BUT in my defense, it was my first time in Niceville in months, so I couldn't pass it up). Plus, although it did rain one of the nights, the weather was gorgeous! I love the 50-60 degree weather in North Florida. It was perfect!

Joseph & I had a few more Christmas presents to open up & Caroline even had a few little gifts of her own!

Along with some other gifts from wonderful family & friends, my Grandma made Caroline her baby blanket & I am in love with it. I had no idea what to expect when I asked if my Grandma would make her one. She made mine and I loved it, and now Caroline has one & it's absolutely perfect. I can't wait to see her with it.

Needless to say, after the great weekend we had, after coming home- we were all exhausted... even Ace :)

Being home & looking around I have realized... I have so much I need to do in the nursery! But, I don't want to start organizing anymore in Caroline's room until after the baby shower so I don't have to move and then re-move things again.

Did I mention the shower is this upcoming weekend!? Ohemgee.

It's finally shower time! I can't wait to see everyone & celebrate the soon arrival of our little love bug. I feel like I have been counting down the days until the shower for forever now. So that means that it's about to be January!! BABY MONTH!

With it being New Years Eve and the beginning of the New Year is upon us it is only right to have a New Years resolution. Or 3 or 10. I'm so excited for 2014.

Looking back through some of my Facebook albums, I noticed that for my welcoming of 2013 I wrote a little paragraph:

"This year is going to be full of big changes. Graduating, moving, and so many other life changing experiences are going to take place. I wont regret anything and Ill take everything head on and full of hope and understanding. Ups and downs are sure to be present, but its part of life. I'm looking forward to everything I have coming my way. Here's to 2013, may it be full of hidden and seen blessings."

2013 certainly has been a big year. I discovered a little bit more of who I am. I made it official with the most amazing man I've ever known at the beginning of 2013, my mom received the liver transplant we all had been waiting for, I graduated from West Florida, I went to my first NASCAR race at Talladega, I moved to Montgomery, my brother found his calling and joined the Air Force, I got married & gained a new family, I moved to Central Florida, Ace turned 6, and I found out we were having a sweet little girl in January. As I noted at the beginning of the New Year, 2013 was full of hidden and seen blessings. It has been one for the books & I hope to always have the memories to look back on.

Looking on to 2014, I know this year will be different than any other year I've experienced so far. I will be a new mommy and I couldn't be happier and feeling more blessed about that.

My welcoming for 2014? It's only proper to welcome it just as I did last year:

"This year will be different, in so many wonderful ways. It will be filled with new challenges and situation and many changes, it will be surrounded by newfound relationships and growing bonds, it will be filled with laughter and some tears. This year represents the beginning of a new way of life, a life that we've been waiting to start. It's a new chapter that's just waiting to be written. I can't wait to share this new journey with my husband and our family, I can't wait to see where the road takes us. Here's to 2014, this is where life begins."

We hope everyone has a safe & Happy New Year. Ring it in right, surrounded by those you care about and love, whether it be family or friends. Cherish what you have and don't long for what you don't. Everything happens for a reason, just enjoy it and see where life takes you.

Until next year....

Happy New Year, Everyone :)

How far along? 35 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: The answer is yes, I've gained weight & I no longer feel like sharing. ;) Baby girl & I are healthy though, so that's what counts!
Stretch Marks? I now have another one, but on the same side. So on one side, I now have 2 little stripes. Can we stop now?
Sleep: Surprisingly sleep is getting better. Who would have thought? I get up once in the middle of most nights but I can "sleep in" in the mornings. (My version of sleeping in and yours are probably 2 totally different things....)
Best moment(s) this week: Going to Niceville over the weekend & seeing my brother & parents. Also hearing how healthy Caroline is during her ultrasound.
Miss anything?: The smell of beer is delicious, so to have one would be great. & as previously stated, I want some Oysters & Egg Nog & Medium Rare Steak, and Cesar Salads! Soon enough right?
Movement: She's beating me up on the inside. I don't know if it's her feet or her hands or if it's just her trying to get comfy- but she's killing my ribs. I like feeling her, so I can't really complain too much.
Food cravings: Everything you're not supposed to have while being pregnant.
Labor Signs: Contractions seem to be getting stronger but no active labor signs yet.
Belly Button in or out? Innie, barely hanging on.
What I am looking forward to: My doctor's appointment to find out if we can narrow down when the little girl will be here & the baby shower this weekend!!
Weekly Wisdom: Car trips while pregnant are not the most pleasant thing, bring snacks and stop often for a walk and a potty break!
